ABHA BLOCK GRANTS

ABHA has a total of $30,000 available for grants to mental health peer-run services, programs, projects, or activities for ABHA member adults and/or children and families. 

These requests should be written by mental health peers, individuals or groups comprised of individuals who have experienced mental health challenges or who advocate for a family member with such experience.  If peers need assistance with the writing of the grant request, this is acceptable so long as the peers are highly involved in all aspects of the writing process.

  • Art*Mind*Soul Expo 2010: $5,000 will be awarded to fund the Art Expo 2010 (grant requests accepted from all 5 counties). 

  •  Adults: $12,500 will be used to fund adult related projects ($2,500 per county).

  • Youth & Families: $12,500 ($2,500 per county) will be used to fund projects related to youth and families.

Grants Request Forms will be available on the website beginning Feb 12, 2010. Grant requests are due by NOON March 22, 2010 at the Corvallis ABHA office.

  • Decision Process:

    • The Adult Advisory Council will meet May 13, 2010 to review adult project requests. 

    • The Youth & Family Advisory Council will meet on May 21, 2010 to review children, youth, and family project requests.

    • Their recommendations will be reviewed by the Administrative Council whose final decision will be made by June 4, 2010. 

All applicants will be notified by mail within two weeks of the Administrative Council’s decision. Contracts will be negotiated, dated, signed and returned no later than July 6, 2010. Subject to available funding, project grant funds can be invoiced for payment beginning June 21, 2010. Funds must be spent within a year from the date of the contract.
